The plant addict bundle is one of the best pottery gifts you can give. Contained within is all the materials, paints and plants that lucky someone will need to craft the perfect homes for their succulents, no extras required. You can even make the pots together with them as a lovely memento for your crafty day together :)

Inside the Sculpd Kit:

- 2 Packs of our Premium Air-Dry Clay

- Step-By-Step Beginners Pottery Guide

- Pottery Carving, Shaping and Cutting Tools & Tool Bag

- White Acrylic Paint

- Glossy Varnish / Sealant

- 2 Paintbrushes

- Sponge for Smoothing

+ Succulents and paints

We use a premium air-drying clay that is soft, supple, easy to work with and smoothes over easily. The clay dries hard and strong with a lovely light grey stone colour that looks beautiful against colours and white acrylic.

It's a joy to paint on! We've tested every air-dry clay we could get our fingers into, and this clay is hands down the best.

If stored unopened in the sealed bag the clay will last 3 - 6 months.

Adding Texture

Add texture to your pot by pressing in your Sculpd tools or items from around your house into the sides of your pot. Repeat this in rows to create unique patterns. You can also wait until the pots have dried for about 1 day and then carve patterns into the pot using the ribbon tool. Check out our instagram Reels for tutorials on pattern carving!

Waterproofing your pots

It’s important to leave your Succulent pots to dry completely for 48 - 72 hours depending on the size. Once fully dry they will be hard and much lighter in colour. Now they're ready to be painted and varnished.

If you are leaving the lovely natural colour of the dried clay partially on display on the outside of your pots, that’s ok, just be sure to paint and varnish the inside to ensure the clay is protected from moisture from the soil.

Caring for your succulents

It’s best to leave your Succulent in its plastic nursing pot and make a clay pot that’s big enough to cover it, so you can remove your succulent to water it and then pop it back in the clay pot once the soil has dried out a little.

Succulents like to be watered thoroughly every couple of weeks and not watered again until the soil is fully dry.

We hope you enjoy making your pots!  Don't forget to tag us @sculpdit on Instagram so we can repost your lovely creations. You stay crafty!
